Tom Profumo is a Partner at Active Partners where he leads their early-stage funds, backing businesses across the full breadth of the consumer economy. He has also led several of Active’s larger growth investments into companies like Code First Girls, Piglet in Bed, Northern Monk and Vinterior. Tom has spent over 15 years working in investment within the consumer sector including in the M&A division at Morgan Stanley and in the consumer corporate finance team at PwC.
With over 25 years of experience in strategic and execution-oriented roles within leading media companies, Vinay specialises in driving digital agendas with a blend of analytical rigour, creativity, and pragmatism. Currently, he leads Channel 4 Ventures, the UK's largest media-for-equity fund, which was established in 2015. Under his leadership, C4V has completed over 50 transactions including key investments and exits like the IPOs of Readly and Pinterest. Previously, he spearheaded European digital business development at Getty Images and led corporate development at Liberty Global, focusing on regions such as India and Southeast Asia. Outside of work, he's a dedicated single co-parent to a 12-year-old and enjoys reading, cooking, running, and collecting vinyl.
