Women in Philippine Postage Stamps — Vanilla Arucan
What does it mean it construct a history, trace a memory, and attend to the future? Vanilla Arucan is a designer & archivist-in-training drawn to form, mundanity, and color; her gatherings & assemblies of objects and figures, from stamps to flora, reveal the narratives hidden in the Filipino domestic.
Vanilla will share an overview of her work at present, zooming in on her efforts for Women in Philippine Postage Stamps (WIPPS) by dissecting the coming-together of its visual elements while reflecting on how her role as archivist contextualizes the project and how archivism informs her design practice.
