Women Changemakers Community Gathering - New York
A safe place for women changemakers (and aspiring women changemakers) to meet one another;
A small-scale gathering where you can actually have intentional conversations with everyone;
A community you show up and participate equally as an agent of change;
A space to exchange stories and find inspirations to bring collective impact;
A tribe you can come back to as your support network and build intergenerational friendships.
This is what this gathering is about. For women changemakers.
Following Climate Week, Girls Be Change is thrilled to cohost a Women Changemakers community gathering with Women And Climate at Impact Hub New York Metropolitan Area. This event aims to harness the momentum from Climate Week, creating a space for women changemakers and aspiring leaders to share their stories and connect for collective impact.
It is a gathering where everyone shows up as an equal participant, questioning and chatting. No panel. No presentation. No speech. Just intentional conversations, about women and climate action.
Come join us on September 30 (Tuesday) for an evening to meet other fellow women changemakers and exchange our stories!
What is Women Changemakers Community Series?
The idea began in the summer of 2023 when two changemakers in Hong Kong, Carmen Chan (Girls Be Change) and Dorothy Lam (Dream Impact), questioned and envisioned what an ideal community is. We need a safe place among women changemakers to have organic meetups, intentional conversations and idea exchange with social ease, find inspirations and encouragement from each other, and build authentic friendships and support networks.
The first Women Changemakers Community Gathering was held in Hong Kong on March 8, 2024 at International Women’s Day. Ever since then, Girls Be Change cohosted with 20 (and counting) organizations and gathered over 150 (and counting) women changemakers in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, and Tanzania. With 15+ gatherings around the globe, a vibrant community of global women changemakers was formed and connected virtually to raise questions, exchange ideas, and celebrate wins.

Stephanie Korbely | Women And Climate
Stephanie has a deep passion for bringing people together in community and empowering them to make a positive impact on the world. When she co-founded Women and Climate in 2022, she built the community she wanted to be a part of but couldn’t find anywhere: a safe space for women to express their feelings around the climate crisis, and a starting point for people who are climate-curious but don’t have prior climate experience. She currently works in program management at Stripe, a financial infrastructure company. Previously, she ran global startup programs and founder communities at WeWork and German Accelerator.
“Diverse perspectives are essential to developing equitable and effective climate solutions. Women and Climate addresses the pressing issue of women’s underrepresentation in the climate space, especially in decision-making capacities. From inspiring more climate newbies to get started on their climate journey by creating welcoming gathering spaces online and offline, to amplifying the voices of those who are working on climate today: Women and Climate plays a critical role in addressing the gender disparity in climate action and leadership.”
