House 831 is hosting Office Hours with Pender Ventures on August 28th from 10:30-1:30! If you're a founder looking for strategic advice or feedback, connect with Jacob Grainger and Maria Pacella in a one-on-one, intimate setting for insight and advice on what you’re building. Whether you’re looking to perfect your pitch, getting VC perspective on the current market, come on out.
We have 8 Office Hour slots available.
The House will be open to all attendees from 10:30- 1:30, with our barista serving free coffee. Arrive early or stay after your session to connect with other founders. House 831 is for fostering meaningful connections and building together—come experience it as a member.

Founders must apply in advance for a 1:1 time slot.
If selected, you’ll receive an email 1 week before event date with your time slot and a door access code.
Come prepared with your most pressing questions and materials to make the most of your session.
Arrive early and hang out after your session to meet other founders or work on what you’re building.

Maria joined Pender Ventures in 2018 as its founding partner. She spent 23 years investing in and operating emerging growth companies. Her investment experience includes more than a decade at GrowthWorks, previously one of Canada’s largest venture firms, where she took a number of enterprise software and health tech startups from investment to exit and served on a variety of boards.
Jacob joined Pender Ventures in 2025 to help build the firm’s presence in Alberta. Previously, he served as a Senior Ventures Associate at Plug and Play Alberta, where he led a team across four verticals, sourcing and evaluating a wide range of startups, and guiding investments in healthcare technology. Prior, Jacob co-founded a startup, was the first employee at MagicMed Industries, and held an operational role at Willow Biosciences.
