Lunch and Learn: How to Prepare for California's Climate Accountability Package
Hosts: Davis Wright Tremaine LLP & Greenplaces
California’s new corporate climate disclosure laws, SB 253 and SB 261, are about to impact many companies across the US—and the timeline for reporting starts sooner than you might think.
Does your company have over $500M in revenue (everywhere) and do business in California? Then you’ve got about 6 months to prepare and publish a report on your climate-related financial risks and measures in response, consistent with established climate risk reporting frameworks.
Over $1B in revenue? Then sometime in 2026 (TBD by the regulators), you’ll also have to publicly disclose your company’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the prior fiscal year.
Where do the standards for climate disclosures come from, how will California modify them, and how will you comply?
Join us for a practical, insight-driven panel exploring how businesses can prepare for these new regulations and build robust GHG emissions reporting and risk management strategies. You’ll hear directly from legal and sustainability experts who are helping organizations navigate this evolving landscape.
