Volunteer Opportunity: Food Distribution in Echo Park
👋 Join Us!
Help Fight Food Insecurity in Echo Park. We need 10 volunteers to help us sort, pack, and distribute food to feed 150 families at our Echo Park distribution site. Volunteers will work alongside Seeds of Hope and St. Paul’s Commons staff and community members to ensure families receive the fresh, nutrient dense fruits and vegetables as well as staple food items for better health in our communities.
🤙 About Event
As part of Seeds of Hope’s Food Sustainability focus for LA Climate Week, we’re running a free Food Distribution to provide fresh, nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables to 150 families experiencing hunger in Echo Park. This is a hands-on opportunity to support food justice by ensuring that our neighbors have access to healthy food. Volunteers will make a direct impact—whether it’s handing out food, engaging with the community, or helping with setup and breakdown, your support will make a difference.
👟 What to Bring & Wear
Gloves will be provided for all volunteers.
Wear comfortable, close-toed shoes—you’ll be on your feet and moving around.
Dress warm and comfortably as the is partially outdoors. Layers are recommended!
Bring your own refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the morning.
Bring your own reusable bag As a thank-you for your time and effort, each volunteer will be able to take home fresh, nutritious food from the distribution! 🥕🥬🍎
Seeds of Hope cultivates wellness and food justice by helping communities reconnect with fresh, healthy food. We distribute more than 70,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables weekly, establish community gardens, and provide education on gardening, composting, healthy cooking, and food preservation to increase nutrition and minimize food waste.
