About Event

Unlock the power of building canister smart contracts using TypeScript on the Internet Computer with Jordan Last, CEO, and Co-Founder of Demergent Labs. This comprehensive course is jointly organized by ICP.Hub North America, Demergent Labs, and Internet Computer Services (ICS). The webinar sessions will follow the structured approach of the Azle book, authored by Demergent Labs. Through this course, you'll gain the skills to create your very own canister smart contract on the Internet Computer, enabling you to deploy your projects on the blockchain.

The course is divided into several sessions:

  • Orientation Session (18th September, 6.00 pm - 7.15 pm PST): Gain insights into the course structure, Chapters, and the layout of the Azle book.

  • 1st Session (19th September, 6.00 pm - 7.15 pm PST): Chapters 1 to 9, covering crucial topics like installation, Hello World, deployment, and an overview of the Internet Computer and canisters.

  • 2nd Session (21st September, 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm PST): Dive into Chapter 10, focusing on update methods.

  • 3rd Session (26th September, 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm PST): Explore Chapter 11, which delves into Candid.

  • 4th Session (28th September, 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm PST): Embark on Chapter 12, dedicated to Stable Structures.

  • 5th Session (3rd October, 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm PST): Cover Chapters 13 to 20, including topics like Cross-canister communication, HTTP, Management Canister, Timers, Cycles, and more. This final session also serves as a reference point for the APIs available to Azle canisters.

The Azle Book: This course comprehensively guides you through canister development in TypeScript on the Internet Computer (IC). The initial 19 chapters are designed as an introductory journey, progressively building your skills in canister development. Chapter 20 acts as an extensive API reference for Azle canisters. Whether you're new to the field or seeking to deepen your expertise, this course is tailored for both learning and reference.
