In this session join Churchill Fellows as they share their Fellowship experiences, impart insights on their fascinating projects and motivate you with what they have achieved since returning to New Zealand. You will also be able to engage in a live Q&A and gain helpful advice on how to apply.
Meet the speakers
Churchill Fellow Tim Boyd is passionate about cultivating inclusive maker spaces. As a Churchill Fellow, he traveled to Australia, the UK, and North America to study projects operating shared workspaces for the creative and skills sectors, businesses, and product manufacturing. Founder of The Warren, Tim provides access to premium machinery and educational resources, fostering a supportive environment for artisans. His model prioritizes studio rentals, education, events, product sales, and fundraising, emphasizing sustainability and community enrichment.
Churchill Fellow Kathryn van Beek spent June 2023 at the Hungarian Writers' Residency in Pécs, shaping her second short story collection themed around ‘delight,' as part of her Fellowship. Cultural immersion, from berry soup to iridescent ceramics, deeply influenced her writing, promising nuanced and enriched narratives from her experiences.
