About Event

Have you heard about neuroplasticity? It is a term that describes the brain's ability to change and adapt due to experience. Neuroplasticity in humans is well documented! But what about our dogs? Can we leverage neuroplasticity to develop our dog's brain for learning and well-being?

Join us to learn about this exciting new research in dog cognition with Sophie Barton from the Canine Brains Project at Harvard University.

During this talk Sophie will help us understand:

1. What is neuroplasticity (in humans and dogs)
2. Benefits of neuroplasticity
3. How to increase your dog's neuroplasticity

Sophie Barton is a 4th year PhD student at Harvard University studying canine brain evolution. She earned her masters degree in human evolutionary biology from Harvard University and her two bachelor's degrees, in psychology and linguistics, from the University of Georgia. Sophie has a rescue mutt named Tamsin who helps her pilot all of her research studies.

This talk is free for all. It will be followed by a Members Only Q&A for Petminded Community members.
