About Event

INTRODUCTION

The SG500 Asia Cities Forum is a decadal initiative to measurably impact the 500 largest cities in Asia with the Gospel by 2033. More details on this initiative can be found in the book “Why Asian Cities” bit.ly/whyasiancities

The annual in-person gathering is an opportunity to bring together diverse participants from all five sub-regions of Asia and around the globe to build kingdom friendships and to spend time together in the presence of the Father. The key objective of the gathering is to collectively discern His heart, and to move forward with bold faith as the Holy Spirit empowers.

The 2025 gathering builds on the momentum catalysed by the inaugural forum in 2024. More information on the first forum can found in the following links

bit.ly/SG500update

The upcoming in-person gathering represents an opportunity to map out the progress we are making towards the 500 city goal. In particular each of the tracks around Open Heavens, Hearts, Highways, Homes and Hallways will be empowered to create a pathway to impact a measurable number of cities.

COSTS

The forum this year is being self funded. The cost is estimated as follows:

Forum Tickets - S$200 (US$155)

This will cover the venue rental for 3 days of meeting facilities, and meals (breakfast and lunches).

For those who can afford it, we invite you to contribute this amount. You are also welcome to contribute a larger amount to help cover costs for participants who may require sponsorship.

For participants who may have financial constraints, feel free contribute whatever you can afford.

FORMAT

The forum will start on Sunday 28 September and conclude on the evening of Tuesday 30 September. Don’t think of this as another conference. Rather it’s meant to be a 72-hour hang out with kingdom friends, in sweet communion with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We will begin each day with collective times of worship and lectio divina, and there will be an opportunity to gather each evening for collective prayer and worship.

The bulk of the forum will be organised around focused roundtable conversations of 20-30 people, in a combination of “open” tracks (corresponding to the open themes in our 500 asia city prayer guide) and geographic groupings for the 5 sub-regions of Asia (South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East, Central Asia, East Asia)

TRACKS

There will be 7 thematic tracks running through out the forum:

OPEN HEAVENS - Prayer and presence ministry to prepare the bride of Christ for the return of the King. True discipleship begins with beholding the beauty of Jesus. As incense of prayer and worship ascends to the throne room, it releases the power to transform the spiritual atmosphere over neighbourhoods and workplaces in the city.

Track Host: Jason Chua, Burning Hearts

OPEN HEARTS - Jesus told the parable of the shrewd manager to highlight this point: “Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.” Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This track is for kingdom investors to consider what it means to prepare storehouses for strategic resourcing of gospel initiatives in the 500 cities of Asia.

Track Host: Wen Lim, Faith Driven Entreprenuer/Investor

OPEN HIGHWAYS - BUSINESS LANE: Most countries in Asia are closed to traditional missionaries and even “business as mission” platforms are coming under greater scrutiny. On the other hand, Asia is wide open for businesses which bring mutual value to their communities. Redemptive business eco-systems are strategic levers to bring shalom to the 500 cities of Asia.

Track Host: Dr Bryan Long, Relationalinnovation.com

OPEN HIGHWAYS - DIGITAL LANE: Anointed and inspired gospel content distributed via new media and metaverse platforms. These are the new roman roads to engage billions in Asia, especially amongst the 2.4bn millennials and gen Zs who are moving into cities at an unprecedented rate.

Track Host: Dr Ashish Thomas, Regional Director, The Chosen

OPEN HOMES - Identify and build up city teams to catalyse urban disciple making movements in affinity groups, neighbourhoods and workplaces across the 500 Asia cities.

Track Host: Scott Crawley, Urban Wheat Project

OPEN HALLWAYS - Receiving redemptive solutions for people and planet, based on ancient blue prints found in scripture. This will pave the way for kingdom impact on hallways of influence/power and schools/universities.

Track Host: to be announced

GEO NETWORKS - Movement.org serves as a backbone organisation to connect church, marketplace and non profit leaders in the 500 cities across the 5 sub-regions of Asia. Watch this video to understand the movement day story.

Arise Asia is pursuing an assignment to raise up thousands of Next Gen harvest workers from across Asia to go where there is no gospel. This five-fold enabled harvest force will catalyse prayer rooms in the 500 cities of Asia, and traverse the business and digital lanes of the open highways to bring gospel impact to the lost, the last and the least of Asia.

Track Host: Jerince Peter, Movement South Asia and Dr Seth Kim, Arise Asia

PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES

1. Presence Over Program

  • Principle: Prioritize space for the Holy Spirit to lead.

  • Practices: Begin and end each day with collective worship, prayer, and silence. Embed “Scripture Guidance Sessions” — guided scripture meditation and listening prayer throughout the day.

2. Curated Apostolic Tables

  • Principle: The right rooms create the right momentum.

  • Practices: Curate micro-gatherings (20-30 people) within the larger SG500 framework for each stream and key Asia sub-regions : marketplace, scholar, church, patron, capital investor. Each table meets multiple times during the event to foster trust and produce next-step outcomes.

3. Multi-Generational Dialogue

  • Principle: Legacy is built when elders walk with the emerging.

  • Practices: “Timothy Tables” — Rising Gen leaders paired with elder mentors around themed conversations. Include Gen Z-led panels or creativity corners where they share visions, provocations, and art forms inspired by scripture or prophetic prayer.

4. Reimagine Format: From Panels to Pilgrimage

  • Principle: Encounter transforms more than information.

  • Practices: Replace traditional panels with “Prayer-Driven Labs” where a theme (e.g., city transformation, ethical AI, redemptive capital) is explored through listening prayer, collective reflection, and active imagination. Include walks and silent reflection spaces.

5. Asia Listens, then Speaks

  • Principle: Steward the Asia voice through indigenous leadership.

  • Practices: Ensure each table, worship set, and discussion is facilitated or initiated by Asian voices. Invite theological leaders to co-create a “Asia Kingdom Identity” paper or declaration—stewarded by an Asia-based theological roundtable.

OUTCOMES

The 5 key goals of the north star vision to measurably impact the largest 500 Asia cities with the Gospel by 2033 can be summarised with the acronym TABLE:

T for Test bed - Singapore’s multi cultural and multi religious composition makes it a unique testing ground for experimenting with new avenues for gospel engagement with the 88% of Singapore‘s population who are currently unengaged. The goal is to see 100 test sites in workplaces and neighbourhoods across Singapore in the next 3 years.

A is to Annualize - the SG500 Forum in Singapore as an in-person gathering to build kingdom friendships across Asia and to collectively enter the secret place of the most high to receive from the Holy Spirit instructions for the journey ahead

B for Backbone - Movement.org serves as the backbone organization to foster collective gospel impact for the SG500 cities in all five sub-regions of Asia

L is for Learning Community - this will be facilitated by the movement.org scholars program - the aim is to see 900 scholars trained in 180 cities in 3 years

E is to Enlist - intercessory prayer efforts for Open Heavens, Open Hearts, Open Highways, Open Homes and Open Hallways in the 500 largest cities of Asia by the year 2033. See link for the prayer guide bit.ly/SG500PrayerGuide

The TABLE acronym also communicates the following values:

  1. We want to bring people to the TABLE to collaborate and share ideas

  2. We want to be reminded of the Lord’s TABLE at the wedding feast of the Lamb where every tongue, tribe, people, and nations will be gathered together (Rev 7)

  3. We want to focus on relationships and a TABLE is a place where we share meals and strengthen relationships
