How to Start & Finish your Sketches
This workshop is sponsored by Legion Paper! All participants will receive a beautiful 5x7" Legion sketchpad!
This workshop will equip you with the tools to build a sketchbook habit.
Opportunities to create art from life can be found everywhere in life. It could be the wait at the bus stop. It could be the restaurant table before your food arrives. It could be your home.
A drawing can be a distraction. Or essential practice. It can be a way to unwind. Or focus. A drawing can be a document outside of words. And a sketchbook can become a visual journal of your life. There are many reasons to build a sketchbook habit.
The lessons of this workshop are designed to address the biggest obstacles to a drawing practice - getting started on the blank page, and finishing sketches in time.
This workshop is for you if you want to -
✍🏼 keep a visual journal
🕰️ find time for art in a busy life
💌 become a more mindful observer of your environment.
The workshop is capped at 16 participants so that I can give adequate attention to each person. Grab a spot before they run out!
The plan:

📚 I encourage you to use your new Legion sketchpads for the workshop, but feel free to bring any sketchbook of your choice.
✒️ I will use a Lamy Safari fountain pen to draw. You are welcome to bring any tool you prefer, pen or pencil. Remember the best tool is the one you do not hesitate to use!
🧳 I will also bring my sketchbooks and regular art supply kit, to share all the things I like to use.
🌤️ Weather forecast is sunny so far. I will keep you updated. Bring a bottle of water! And an umbrella! Also a jacket? It's Vancouver!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
