Our Potluck Dinner’s are an opportunity for us to sit down in a group for a collective Jeffersonian style dialogue. After sitting down to eat, we’ll dive into our conversation topic for an hour of deep discussion, before we move on to mingling.
The conversation will be led and facilitated by Light Dao Owners Jay Levin and Anshul Jain, respectively.
Jay Levin hes led or started six media companies and launched six nonprofits - all primarily focused on providing positive change. He is best known as Founder of the LA Weekly which won many journalism awards and grew to be the largest urban weekly publication in the country.
He is trained in human development matters and concluded that raising the emotional intelligence and life skills of children is the most positive and needed education reform of our time, a very real and serious game-changer for kids, schools, families, employers and communities when comprehensively applied. Consciousness Training and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) offer an historic opportunity to change the cause of eons of human suffering and conflict, personal and collective - the cause being lack of learnable skills to deal with ourselves and others in healthy and co-caring and creative ways.
SEL is an economy growth engine, supported by a study by the American Enterprise Institute, and that it assures a highly competent and desirable workforce. It leads to higher employee emotional intelligence and greater creativity (both profoundly needed to keep up with business challenges (as corporate boards increasingly realize); also leads to collaboration, productivity and profitability - and to workplaces with high job satisfaction and employee retention.
