About the Instructor:
My name is Walaa, and I am an actor/dancer passionate about drama in all its glorious forms, so I would not mind being called a drama queen. I find it fitting to how I found meaning in life's existential questions; accordingly, that is how I chose to carry myself in the world. I have a BA in Theatre Arts from the American University in Cairo and a two-year MFA in the Meisner technique from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, NYC, making me 3rd generation Meisner actor. I also have actor conservatory training with SiTi company, run by Ann Bogart, specializing in Suzuki and viewpoint actor training. I am a Cairo Contemporary Dance School student, completing my third year of short dance Modules. I have worked professionally with many directors, such as Marwan Hamid, Mohamed Shaker Khodier, and Khairy Bishara, and I am an active member of the Egyptian Actor Syndicate. Workshop Description:
This workshop is an intense, introductory confrontation with different layers you can go through in the Meisner technique. We will start by exploring the fundamental exercise "The Repetition, "then we will explore the "independent activities, "and we will finally bring all these elements together in the "scene study week." In just a few weeks, you will better understand the power that the Meisner Technique can give you for your acting craft and, on top of that, for you as a person.

اسمي ولاء، وأنا ممثلة وراقصة شغوفة بالدراما بكل أشكالها الرائعة، لذا لا أمانع أن يُطلق علي لقب "ملكة الدراما". أجد أن هذا اللقب يعكس تمامًا الطريقة التي وجدت بها المعنى في أسئلة الحياة الوجودية، وبناءً عليها اخترت كيف أعيش وأتفاعل مع العالم.
أحمل درجة البكالوريوس في فنون المسرح من الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، ودرجة الماجستير MFA لمدة عامين في تقنية مايزنر من مدرسة الحي للمسرح Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre في نيويورك، مما يجعلني ممثلة من الجيل الثالث في هذه التقنية. كما تلقيت تدريبًا مكثفًا في معهد SiTi Company الذي تديره آن بوجارت، متخصصًا في تدريبات الممثلين بأسلوبي سوزوكي و"وجهة النظر" Viewpoints.
أنا طالبة في مدرسة القاهرة للرقص المعاصر، وأكمل عامي الثالث من وحدات الرقص القصيرة. عملتُ بشكل احترافي مع العديد من المخرجين، مثل مروان حامد، محمد شاكر خضير، وخيري بشارة، وأنا عضو نشط في نقابة المهن التمثيلية المصرية.

هذه الورشة المكثفة هي مقدمة مباشرة لاكتشاف طبقات متعددة من تقنية مايزنر. سنبدأ باستكشاف التمرين الأساسي "التكرار"، ثم سننتقل إلى "الأنشطة المستقلة"، وأخيرًا سنجمع كل هذه العناصر في "أسبوع دراسة المشهد".
في غضون أسابيع قليلة فقط، ستحصل على فهم أعمق للقوة التي يمكن أن تمنحك إياها تقنية مايزنر في حرفتك التمثيلية، وفوق ذلك، في شخصك وحياتك اليومية.
