UXR Meetup #2 (Panel): UXR function in different organizational contexts
Are you a UX researcher ( or identify as one 😄 ) in Berlin or around and want to meet other UXRs, leaders, educators, and mentors from Berlin? Then this event is for you.
Berlin is full of events for designers thanks to the amazing design communities. But what about UX Researchers?
We spoke with many UX Researchers and UX leaders, and most mentioned that they feel a need of a community in Berlin where they can speak with other researchers about their challenges, and learn how different UXR practices happen in organizations of various scale, in different industries, geographies, etc.
With the UXR Meetup series, we aim to create a safe space for all UX Researchers in Berlin / Germany. Elli Ponomareva, one of our community mentors took the initiative to become a co-organizer for this event and support us with this mission.
Agenda:
18:00 - Opening the gates for check-ins, first ice-breaker activity
18:30-18:50 Introductions & Knowing the audience.
19:00-20:00 Panel discussion and Q&A on "How does UXR function in different organizational contexts?" by Elli (JetBrains), Natalia (Google), Zoi (Nord Pass), Kasia (Klarna) and moderated by Vanessa (Delivery Hero).
20:00 ish - Opening the event for networking and snacks thanks to our sponsors. Drinks are available to purchase at the venue at an affordable price. This way we can support the venue as well as some brands with a story or a local background.
21:30 - Starting to wrap up :)
Objective of this panel discussion:
As a UX Researcher in Berlin or Germany one wants to hear from experienced UXRs who have worked in different types of organizations to share their perspectives on what influence organizational setup has on their day-to-day work.
This discussion will touch upon the opportunities and challenges each organizational context creates for user researchers. Experts will also provide advice on what, in their personal experience, helps user researchers succeed in a new role in various organizational setups. Attendees will have a chance to contribute their opinions or ask questions during the Q&A section.
About the organiser
Employed.world is a job seeker community in Germany. In the current job market there are many highly capable people finding it hard to navigate the market and often feeling that the journey is isolated. No matter if you are a junior, mid level, senior, new manager or even a leader. Imposter syndrome, self doubts and often a lack of support are among the many hurdles one faces. On the other hand we have so many professionals in UX and Product including working professionals, seniors, mentors who would be happy to share their experiences and help someone in need. So we are attempting to increase the interaction between these two groups through our events.
