🐰About our speakers

Jennifer Cerda is a busy mom, wife and succulent plant lover and she has dedicated her career to all different kinds of user experience design. She believes that every experience we utilize in our day-to-day, whether it's with actual products, services or just completing an errand should be a good experience from end to end. She approaches everything she does with a whole picture outlook and she likes to consider it "designing for life experiences". Even if your design and testing was a small part of the full journey, every step before and after are just as important.

Jennifer's career started in graphic design and then moved to designing and coding web designs. After a few years freelancing she shifted her career to user research and UX/UI designing at various companies. In her current role as a Senior UX Designer at The Home Depot she conducts user research studies, creates journey maps, wireframe designs and prototype full hi-fidelity complex configurable experiences to hand off to developers in stories with the product manager. She is a big supporter of collaborative designing and bringing developers, product managers, stakeholders and more to lean UX design studios and design sprints when possible.

Jennifer is UX certified by NN/g, Design Sprint Master Class Certified and she has a BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design from Sam Houston State University.

Over the last few years she has been focusing on design sprint facilitation and mentoring other designers on UX best practices, communication skills and ways to practice emotional intelligence.
