The next step for AI is Embodiment
Embodied AI is a critical next step in the journey toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). In this talk, Giuseppe Paolo, a Research Scientist at Huawei's Noah's Ark Lab, will contrast the embodied approach with the prevailing trend of static learning models, such as Large Language Models, and explore the unique advantages of embedding AI in physical and perceptual experiences.
Drawing from insights across philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and robotics, he will examine how Embodied AI expands the scope of cognitive architectures, integrating perception, action, memory, and learning in a cohesive framework.
Grounded in Friston's active inference principle, Giuseppe will outline a comprehensive approach to developing AI that is capable of real-world interaction and adaptation.
