Join Sarah Stein Greenberg (Executive Director of the Stanford d school) and Tom Maiorana (Associate Professor in the Department of Design at UC Davis) as they let you in on the secrets of design through several exercises to help you learn hands on some of the design principles behind rapid prototyping and testing, and the value of reflection for developing your skills over time.

Meet the speakers:
Sarah Stein Greenberg is the Executive Director of the Stanford d.school and the author of Creative Acts for Curious People: How to Think, Create, and Lead in Unconventional Ways (Ten Speed Press). She leads a community of designers, faculty, and other innovative thinkers who help people unlock their creative abilities and apply them to the world. She holds an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and a BA in history from Oberlin College. Sarah also serves as a trustee for Rare, a global conservation organization.
Tom Maiorana is an Associate Professor in the Department of Design at UC Davis and the founder of the Prototyping Systems Lab. Tom specializes in product design and development, design thinking, and prototyping. Tom is currently creating video games to help communities “rehearse” wildfire evacuations and he is developing tools and resources to enhance the election infrastructure in the United States. Tom has an MFA in design from Stanford University and a BA in American Culture from Vassar College.
