After a year of successful South Asian fusion mashups posted across social media and performed live, SANJ (aka @xoxosanj) recently recorded her debut album, ‘Nightingale.’✨
This body of work is an amalgam of her signature sultry r&b flows, deep Carnatic roots, and SANJ’s signature coy demeanor.
Releasing worldwide on Friday, February 24th, ‘Nightingale’ will take you on a journey through SANJ’s mind.💫
To celebrate the release, SANJ x BrownGirlMag are hosting an album release party at the Happy Monday studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, from 7PM-10PM.
New music, good vibes, drinks courtesy of Junglee and desserts by Farishta Flowers will be served.

Chicago raised and NYC-based, SANJ is an Indian-American singer-songwriter that’s innovating in her genre by fusing her lifelong love for Carnatic and Bollywood sounds with her classic, sultry R&B flows. SANJ has been a lifelong singer, songwriter, and musician, and folds her passion for music into many facets of her life.
By day, SANJ works in advertising strategy at Google, and performs often in venues across NYC by night, all while being an avid supporter of her friends’ creative endeavors.
