About Event

By Sonia Fevre and Tianna Brand

The World Organisation for Animal Health is an intergovernmental organisation responsible for setting standards for animal health worldwide. The Organisation is in transition from a gender-blind modus operandi to a gender-aware stage. It is starting to collect data and understand the implications of gender not only for the Organisation but also for populations around the world affected by animal health, and it is working to improve animal health and welfare.

In this session, we present initial trends identified around gender and animal health related to education, career pathways, and access to animal health services in West Africa and Southeast Asia. We then open the discussion to explore the implications of these trends for possible futures.
