About Event

Let's kick off the week in community with an early AM of cold plunging and mindfulness based journaling!

Meet us at Ice Cold Club HQ where you will be supported in your Journaling with Emily + Ice Baths with Lauren.

Whether you are new or experienced at the practices of cold exposure and/or journaling — this is the perfect space for you. We will be flowing back and forth from the tub to the journal as we spend the morning very intentionally.

​Come join us on a journey in realizing that we're not alone in our human experience, to be part of a special community and to kick off your week on a fresh start. You belong here, and we can't wait to see you ❤️

What to Expect:

🧊 Guided Ice Baths — jump in tub and get your day started! You will be supported by one of Ice Cold Club's coaches in this activation.

​📝 Materials to put pen to paper — journals, decor, and writing utensils are included! Prompts will be put on the screen and the invitation to pull what suites you will be there. You will be supported by Emily of Journaling Classes in this activation!

​👫 Community & Connection — show up and be sure to walk away with a new connection or friend. This is a free flowing event. You are welcome to stay as long as you'd like!

​🧘 Mindfulness-based journaling prompts that will explore our true selves, topics of healing, intention setting, and more.

​🌿 A safe space — during our time together, we will have the opportunity to connect with ourselves and those around us through story telling, writing, and community. We will have a ceremonial moment that will allow us to connect to the ground and space we are in.

☕ Coffee and light morning snacks will be provided!

Schedule of Events:

We’ll be keeping it chill! Due to the unpredictable nature of the NYC Monday morning, we'll have a loose start time — join us between 6:30AM-7:30AM to give yourself enough time to drop in to both your journaling practice + the ice!

There is a changing room and large bathrooms to change as needed!

Event wraps at 8:30am — be at the office or home by 9:00am! We invite you to come for the entirety of the workshop but this is a social and free flowing event. Stay for the journaling + ice bath but stay for connection and community.

About the Experience:

Guided Cold Exposure: Using our breath, your coach will help guide you into the ice. We’ll use the cold as a tool to practice how we handle stress with 3 to 5 minute exposures in the ice baths. When we get good at managing our stress response to the cold, we find it directly translates to the other types of stress we encounter in our day to day lives. First-timers are welcome!

Mindful Journaling + Self-Exploration: We’ll start by centering ourselves with creating a creative space for reflection. Individually, we’ll use journaling as a tool to delve into our thoughts and emotions, guided by prompts that encourage honest self-expression. We’ll capture our inner dialogue and gain insights into our personal journeys. This practice aids in processing experiences, understanding emotions, and nurturing self-awareness. This event is ideal for beginners or those wishing to enhance their journaling practice.

​About your hosts:

​Emily Chertow, she/her, is the founder of @journalingclasses. She is a Brooklyn-based creative, often spending time in parks with friends and coffee shops with her journal. Emily is passionate about advocating for mental health, human connection, and the power of putting pen to paper. Emily has put pen to paper with over 9k people and is passionate about holding space that is inclusive, safe, and welcoming to all!

Lauren Schramm founded Ice Cold Club in the summer of 2021 as a way to share the profound effects that cold exposure had on her ability to regulate her mood, move successfully through stressful situations + build a level of resilience in her mind, body + nervous system. What started as a small gathering of brave friends, quickly turned into a lively community of like-minded individuals focused on growth + connection, to themselves + each other.
