About Event

Downtime, just for you

​I open space every Sunday morning (on the west coast) to guide you into deep relaxation and restorative balance, using guided imagery, body cues, visualizations and breath to:

  • ​shift into much needed rest and repair

  • ​calm the nervous system

  • ​reduce inflammation (mental and physical)

  • ​enliven inner balance

  • ​connect with wonderful community each on their own journey of healing

​A practice born of my own pivotal healing experiences

​My style of meditation is born from two fundamental experiences - being guided by exceptional yoga practitioners and being healed by somatic therapists. I combine the best of relaxation techniques with guided imagery directly into your body, your organs and your vessels so you release stagnation or blocks, encourage flow of vital life force energy and to feel grounded, to boot. This is an active meditation style with a focus on relaxing and opening the body.

​Even if you don't think you can meditate, you'll be surprised

​Newcomers are surprised that they can enter into a deeper state of relaxation through guided imagery. We collectively dispel the myth that we need to control our thoughts or clear our minds. Instead, we simply place intentional focus on our bodies, through our breath to enter into a state of receptive rest and repair. Most people tell me that they feel lighter and more open after this practice, even if they've struggled to meditate in the past.

​Who is Joe Shoemaker?

​I’m an executive coach and somatic healer with a unique blend of credentials and lived experience: 15 years in the corporate world, extensive training in holistic healing modalities, and a deeply intuitive approach to personal transformation. I’m a certified Awaken Your Life Coach, Level 3 Shamanic Arts Practitioner, Reiki Master, and Ayurvedic Wellbeing Advisor—as well as a curry-crazed home chef, a guitarist of 34 years, a cat whisperer, and an energetically sensitive human.

Before stepping fully into this work, my years in corporate gave me firsthand insight into the pressure, pace, and perfectionism that so many high achievers navigate daily. That foundation allows me to deeply relate to my clients and guide them from a place of both understanding and expertise.

My emphasis is on coaching driven professionals who tell me they want to slow down, find calm, get more grounded, seek clarity, and achieve inner peace—without sacrificing their ambition or purpose.

I battled with Lyme disease for decades, pursuing healing at every possible level until I realized I was meant to be a guide, mentor, coach, and healer myself. I now work 1:1 with clients who want to thrive in life, relationship, and spirit, I lead Sunday morning meditations, and offer workshops and community events throughout the year.
