About Event

The famed photographer, William Albert Allard, has graciously agreed to talk with us about his illustrious career, which started in 1964 as a National Geographic photographic intern. It was there where he contributed to 42 Nat Geo articles as a staff, freelance, and contract photographer and writer.

Allard has published seven highly acclaimed books including his first, Vanishing Breed, of which the Associated Press said, "This is a classic." Published in 1982, Vanishing Breed was nominated for The American Book Award for 1982, and was the winner of the Wrangler Western Heritage Award for Outstanding Western Art Book and was awarded the Leica Medal of Excellence. Mr. Allard’s most recent work, Paris, a 31-year retrospective of his Parisian images since 1986, was published by Lammerhuber Editions in Vienna, Austria, in 2017.  Mr. Allard’s work is included with the photography collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and is on view at other museums and private collections.
