​Build a strong security organization to protect the company from threats to its applications and internal processes. As CTOs, we excel at risk management and balancing the demands of the organization with potential threats. Being security-conscious is valuable, especially if we guide the organization through the unknown with foresight and care.

​Remember, security measures often come with a higher cost, but the consequences of fines or data breaches can be catastrophic for the organization. As CTOs, it's our responsibility to collaborate with security professionals and help the organization navigate these expenses.

​Personally, I find security more enjoyable in younger organizations. It's more technical and interesting. However, as organizations grow larger, it can become a cumbersome process of paperwork and redundant procedures that drain our enthusiasm.

​At this CTO level, it's crucial to have a capable staff dedicated to security matters.
