End of the Line - Take Transit to the Cemetery
Transit can connect you to a whole other world! Come join Marielle, a Bay Area-based Filipina Death Doula, as we visit Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland via transit!
Meet at 10 AM at the intersection of Broadway and Thomas L Berkley Way/20th St, right by one of the 19th St/Oakland BART Station entrances/exits. From there, we’ll catch the AC Transit 12 Bus towards Northwest Berkeley, expected to leave at 10:08 AM
We’ll get off at the Piedmont Ave and Brandon St stop, then walk 5-10 minutes to the cemetery entrance, arriving at around 10:30 AM. Feel free to meet us at the cemetery entrance already if you’d like!
We’ll stroll around, take a break to have some discussions about cemeteries and other end-of-life topics, and just enjoy feeling alive in a beautiful cemetery. And just a heads up: there may be topics shared about end-of-life planning, so if these are sensitive topics for you at the moment, you’re more than welcome to join discussions that you feel comfortable with.
Remember to prepare for the weather and bring water to stay hydrated. Light snacks will be provided. All attendees must provide their own transit fare. And most importantly, stay curious and keep an open mind! If you’ve never visited a cemetery just to stroll around, now’s your chance! This is your sign to join other curious souls who love transit, and it gives you a solid answer when folks ask, “What did you do over the weekend?” You made it to the End of the Line! =)
