About Event

The DeSci Summit at CU Denver, brought to you by The Stemcell Biobanking & Disease Modeling Core at CU-Anschutz, is a focused event aimed at students (undergraduate and graduate) and faculty interested in the intersection of decentralization and science. The summit features a series of presentations to expose attendees to the latest in decentralized science (DeSci), with topics ranging from the evolution of the DeSci ecosystem to building AI platforms for scientific data analysis.

Keynote speaker Eric Schutes will highlight the event, emphasizing the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles in open science, a set of guidelines designed to improve the management and stewardship of scientific data. Schutes's involvement with FAIR principles signifies the importance of making scientific data more accessible and usable for the wider community.

Summit Highlights:

  • Eric Schutes: Keynote speaker, focusing on the FAIR movement in open science.

  • Erin Magennis: "DeSci Landscape Overview" - Evolution of the DeSci ecosystem.

  • Levi Rybalov: "Coordinating the Decentralized Future" - Next steps in scientific revolution.

  • Richard Blythman: "Building an AI Platform for Data Generating Agencies" - Insights from Algovera's experience.

  • Ronen Tamari: "Semantic Publishing" - Innovations in scientific publications.

About FAIR and GO FAIR Foundation:

The FAIR principles, proposed in a 2016 Nature paper, aim to make scientific data more findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. These principles are crucial for advancing open science, ensuring scientific data can be easily shared and used beyond their original purpose. The GO FAIR Foundation supports these objectives by providing guidance and resources to help researchers and organizations implement FAIR principles, thus enhancing the global scientific community's ability to manage and share data effectively.

This event is ideal for those interested in the latest developments in scientific research, data management, and the potential of decentralization to foster open, collaborative scientific endeavors.
