Moral Courage: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Challenges
Sean and Mark set out from opposite ends of the world—Mark’s journey began on African soil, while Sean’s kicked off at America’s southernmost tip.
Neither could have guessed the trials ahead.
Sean would face near-death ordeals as he and three best mates ran a marathon a day to cover the entire U.S. East Coast in just 80 days.
The day Mark and his wife left the orphanage with their three Tanzanian foster children, they passed 57 others without hope of a forever family. As their adoption journey ended, a new chapter was about to begin.
Gather with us as Sean and Mark will share their gripping stories and the unifying message: ordinary people can do extraordinary things when serving a cause greater than themselves.
New research by UC Berkeley professor Dacher Keltner has proven there’s a relationship between our proximity to these kinds of people and our experience of wonder!
He found that witnessing ‘moral courage’ in others is the highest contributor to our feelings of awe.. even more than when we’re in nature!
Where do we find people who can inspire us in this way, evoking a sense of wonder?
And what does it look like for us to shape lives of moral courage for ourselves?
On Thursday 5 June, we'll hear from Sean and Mark, exploring all of this and more.
