We will be joined by professor Loren Rotner. Loren is currently working on a new book on Leo Strauss’s account of the philosophic life and its competitors. Loren is director of the Cosmos Institute and assistant professor of intellectual foundations and political philosophy at the University of Austin (UATX). Previously, Loren was UATX’s founding assistant provost.
Loren has taught classical political philosophy, literature, and history at St. John’s College, Annapolis, American political thought at the United States Naval Academy, and Adam Smith’s Theory of Moral Sentiments and the Wealth of Nations at the American Enterprise Institute. He earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University, an M.A. from the University of Texas, Austin, and a B.A. from Kenyon College, all in political science.
