Workshop Description:
INTRO TO THE CHUBBUCK METHOD In this 2-day intensive workshop you will learn the foundation of the empowering Chubbuck method. We will cover the process of analyzing character and story first, then how to move into the first steps of personalization. We will have two kinds of attendees: 1) Actors 2) Auditors Actors will be given scenes to prepare before the workshop and will have designated time in the workshop to apply the method to their scenes. Auditors will be observing the entire workshop but will also participate in the writing exercises.
To join future Chubbuck classes, this workshop is a pre-requisite.
Actors
- Pre-requisites: They should have taken some advanced workshops in the studio or in other studios
- They must prepare their scenes ahead of time, before the actual workshop
- They must be willing to act in front of an audience of auditors
- The method gets personal, so they will not be forced to share anything they don’t want… and sharing can be with me in a private room
Auditors
- No acting experience required. Anyone can attend.
- They must bring a notebook and pen to participate in the diary exercises.
- They will not be required to share if they don’t want.
- Auditors must not leave during any work on scenes.

About the instructor:
Luke Lehner is an Acting Coach with over 20 years of experience in acting. In 2012 he received his MFA in Acting from the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theatre School. Since his return to Cairo in 2014 he’s been conducting acting workshops, coaching for film and series productions, and giving private classes on a freelance basis. Some of the professional actors he has coached include Mona Zaki, Asser Yassin, Laila Elwi, Ahmed el-Fishawy, Donia Samir Ghanem, Ahmed Malek, and has worked on films and drama series such as Ali Goat and Ibrahim, Mariam, Sheikh Jackson, al-seham al marefa, Rawabi School for Girls, 420 mins, and soon to be released al-Safa7. In 2018 he started an acting studio, which has hosted numerous activities such as acting and cinema related workshops. The studio has hosted experimental projects, such as the successful improvisation troupe Irtigalia, founded and directed by Ramsi Lehner. His directorial debut, 7elm Lylet 3ard, was the result of an advanced theater workshop, was self produced, and staged at the AUC Falaki theater earlier this year.
Schedule:
Total hours: 12 hours - 6 hours each day - 2 hour lunch break in between two 4 hour sessions (with bathroom breaks)
- 5th & 6th of September from 1:30PM to -4:30 PM… then resume from 6 PM to 9 PM

في هذه الورشة المكثّفة لمدة يومين ستتعلّم أساسيات منهج تشابّك المُلهم.
سنغطي أولًا عملية تحليل الشخصية والقصة، ثم ننتقل إلى الخطوات الأولى في التشخيص الشخصي (Personalization).
سيكون لدينا نوعان من المشاركين:

الممثلون:
سيتم إعطاؤهم مشاهد لتحضيرها قبل بدء الورشة.
سيكون لديهم وقت مخصص خلال الورشة لتطبيق المنهج على مشاهدهم.
الشروط:
يجب أن يكونوا قد شاركوا مسبقًا في ورش عمل متقدمة داخل الاستوديو أو في استوديوهات أخرى.
يجب تحضير المشاهد مسبقًا قبل الورشة.
يجب أن يكون لديهم الاستعداد للتمثيل أمام جمهور من المستمعين.
المنهج شخصي للغاية، لذلك لن يُجبر أي ممثل على مشاركة ما لا يرغب في مشاركته… ويمكن أن تتم المشاركة مع المدرّب بشكل خاص في غرفة منفصلة.
المستمعون (Auditors):
لا يشترط أي خبرة في التمثيل. يمكن لأي شخص المشاركة.
يجب إحضار دفتر وقلم للمشاركة في تمارين الكتابة اليومية.
لن يُطلب منهم مشاركة ما لا يرغبون في مشاركته.
يُمنع مغادرة القاعة أثناء العمل على المشاهد.

عن المدرّب:
لوك لينر (Luke Lehner) هو مدرب تمثيل يتمتّع بخبرة تزيد عن 20 عامًا في مجال التمثيل.
حصل في عام 2012 على ماجستير الفنون في التمثيل (MFA) من معهد التدريب المتقدم في المسرح في مسرح American Repertory Theater بالتعاون مع مدرسة موسكو لفنون المسرح.
منذ عودته إلى القاهرة عام 2014، قدّم العديد من ورش التمثيل، عمل كمدرّب للسينما والدراما، وأعطى دروسًا خاصة بشكل مستقل.
من بين الممثلين المحترفين الذين درّبهم: منى زكي، آسر ياسين، ليلى علوي، أحمد الفيشاوي، دنيا سمير غانم، أحمد مالك. كما عمل على أفلام ومسلسلات منها:

في عام 2018 أسس استوديو للتمثيل استضاف العديد من الأنشطة مثل ورش التمثيل وورش مرتبطة بالسينما، بالإضافة إلى مشاريع تجريبية منها فرقة الارتجال الناجحة إرتجالية، التي أسسها وأدارها رامسي لينر.
أما تجربته الإخراجية الأولى "حلم ليلة عرض" فكانت نتاج ورشة مسرحية متقدمة، وأنتجها بشكل مستقل، وعُرضت على مسرح الفلكي بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة هذا العام.
الجدول الزمني:
المجموع: 12 ساعة (6 ساعات كل يوم)
يتخللها استراحة غداء مدتها ساعتان بين جلستين (كل جلسة 4 ساعات + فترات استراحة قصيرة).
