Attachment → Development → Purpose
Our early attachment experiences shape how we view ourselves, our relationships, and our capacity to act in ways we find meaningful. In this workshop, we will begin with a guided Ideal Parent Figure meditation to establish an operating base of security and connection with our best sense of self. In the second half, we will expand on that with a visualization connecting our best self with a greater sense of purpose, seeing that the personal and the universal are not contradictory, but are both essential to living a complete life.
Most of this workshop will be dedicated to the meditations themselves, with plenty of time for discussion, questions, and answers. Whether you have an established spiritual practice or are just starting, you’ll find a supportive space alongside others on similar journeys. Together, we'll create a safe environment for reflection and self-discovery - each of us bringing our unique experiences to explore life’s direction in a way that feels true and meaningful. Come as you are; there’s no right or wrong place to start.
Evan Leed is a coach authorized to teach on meditation and attachment by George Haas, founder of Mettagroup, with whom he maintains an active mentoring relationship. He also had the privilege of studying attachment under the late Dr. Daniel Brown for two years as an original member of the Ideal Parent Figure Masterclass. His work centers around helping his clients come into greater security, resolve attachment wounds and traumas, and experience a deeper sense of meaning in individual pursuits and relationships. He has maintained a daily meditation practice for over fifteen years and has spent over nine months on intensive retreat, in the Theravada and Vajrayana traditions.
Martin Zobel is an attachment therapist based in Germany, who was trained by the two co-creators of the Three Pillars Model of Treatment for Attachment Disturbances, the late Dr. Daniel Brown and David Elliot, PhD, from whom he continues to receive training and supervision. He first encountered the Ideal Parent Figure work as a client recovering from disorganized attachment and unresolved loss. Now he loves to share what he has learned along the way - both from professional training as well as his personal experience - to help others move along the same path of earning secure attachment and becoming more fully themselves. He has been practicing meditation since 2015 and more than ever considers himself a beginner.
