About the Talk:
How can information design and data visualization help readers make sense of today’s complex issues? In this talk, Adina Renner explains how her background in graphic design led her to journalism and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how visual stories are created at the Swiss daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ). Using practical examples, she presents the range of visual journalism produced at NZZ. She also delves into the decisions and design work that went into two specific visual articles – showing how visual journalism can create a more immersive experience than traditional reporting.
