African Women: Stories in Short Film (& Ethiopian Food)
African Women: Stories in Short Film celebrates emerging and established talent from the African film-making industry. We aim to shine a light on a subset of the creative industry that is brimming with brilliance yet struggles for recognition.
This screening is a Rogue Travel Club & Lunartic Adventures event done in collaboration with the African Short Film Observatory.
African Women: Stories in Short Film will show short films from 5 different African nations.
Our films will explore:
Memo’s fight to break the cycle of violence and drugs in Kenya’s slums
Halima’s fight to survive on Nigerian streets as a deaf girl
En’s discovery of the huge resilience of a woman’s spirit.
& much more.
Fiction, documentary and animation are all represented in this showing. Each short film inspires deep learning about the societies they come from.
Rogue Travel Club and Lunartic Adventures exist to tell the story of the African continent through travel. While we are in the UK, we create these adventurous experiences to give you that travel feeling.
