Postering the 38 Geary route for the ComMUNIty Transit Act!
We're a grassroots campaign without a huge advertising budget. We used posters to get transit lovers to sign our ballot measure petition and come volunteer. They were shockingly effective!
We don't yet have a prop letter to vote YES on. But we do want to reach San Franciscans who love the bus, all over the city. Come put up posters with us across the 38 Geary route!
We'll meet at Geary & Masonic, you'll get supplies, and then people can take the 38 to a different spot along the route to cover it. We won't re-convene after, so you can also use this event to just pick up posters to put up elsewhere.
Your RSVP is required! We need to know how many posters and supplies to bring. Feel free to bring your own tape and sharpie.
We recommend bringing a tote to hold posters while you're putting one up.
There are some important postering rules. We'll add you to our volunteering Slack where you can find all of them. The highlights:
You must write the posting date in the bottom-right corner.
Only use tape to affix posters!
Only attach to lamp or utility poles.
Don't put a poster on a pole that already has one of our posters.
Do not affix them to Muni bus shelters, parks, in Union Square Plaza, or where listed here.
