About Event

MCJ is thrilled to return to NY Climate Week with an exciting live podcast recording. This year, our special guest is Tom Steyer, Founder and Co-executive Chair of Galvanize Solutions.

Cody Simms and Tom Steyer will dive into the insights from Tom's book, "Cheaper, Faster, Better: How We’ll Win the Climate War." They'll also explore Tom's fascinating journey from his hedge fund days to his work in the climate sector, his 2020 presidential campaign, and his current efforts with Galvanize Solutions.

The event will conclude with a networking happy hour, offering attendees the chance to connect and mingle with like-minded professionals.

A big thank you to our co-hosts at JP Morgan and Ethic for making this event possible.

🎙️ Meet our guest and host:

⚡️ Tom Steyer is the founder and co-executive chair of Galvanize Climate Solutions, a multi-strategy investment firm focused exclusively on the climate transition. After earning his MBA from Stanford, in 1986 Steyer founded Farallon Capital Management, a San Francisco-based hedge fund that pioneered the strategy known as “absolute return investing,” and which grew to $36 billion in assets under management. In 2012, he left his firm to devote his time, money, and energy to climate issues. He was a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate with a campaign centered on addressing climate change, and later that year he served as co-chair for California Governor Gavin Newsom's Business and Jobs Recovery Task Force. In addition, he co-chaired Vice President Biden’s Climate Engagement Advisory Council to help mobilize climate voters. Steyer lives in San Francisco.

🎤 Cody Simms is the host of the My Climate Journey podcast and Managing Partner at MCJ. He's also co-founder of Climate Changemakers, a non-profit climate action network that got its start in the MCJ Member community. Cody co-authored the Amazon-bestselling book Levers: The Framework for Building Repeatability into Your Business.
