​About SQS:

​SQS 2024 brings together researchers, students, educators, and community practitioners to share their research, ideas, and projects loosely related to sexuality, gender, and/or queer perspectives (broadly conceived!). While the focus of the symposium is on the Singapore context and held in-person in Singapore, we are open to anyone attending & contributing presentations. We love diverse perspectives and want to hear yours.

​Singapore Queer Symposium (SQS) aims to empower queer people and allies in Singapore interested in thinking about sexuality and gender from intellectual or community perspectives to get to know each other and forge affirming networks and future collaborations. We are fascinated about “queerness” in an inclusive and openly defined way. In other words, we are excited about conversations about diverse manifestations of sexuality and gender, and their intersections with identities and relationships. This includes—but is not limited to—research about people who fit into conventional LGBTQIA categories.
