Fermentation takes time, care, the right conditions, and a little heat, much like building a business. Join us for Summer Fermentations, a special Ladysmith evening hosted by Aruna Lee, founder of Volcano Kimchi, at her studio in Dogpatch.
We’ll sip signature cocktails, naturally fermented, of course, and reflect on the parallels between fermentation and the entrepreneurial path; the slow, transformative process of bringing an idea to life.
We’ll tour Aruna’s space and see how she makes her small-batch vegan kimchi, including seasonal standouts like watermelon. She’ll walk us through the basics of fermentation, and we’ll build our own Bibimbap bowls with her signature flavors.
Aruna will share her founder story, how she built Volcano Kimchi, what she’s learned along the way, and where she’s headed next. From there, we’ll open the space for Q&A, then time for everyone to share. Just like our first Ladysmith gathering, this is a chance to talk openly about where we are in our own journeys, what we’re building, what’s working, and what we’re struggling with.
