[FirstGen] Founder Breakfast: the non-VC route, bootstrapping to selling
About the Event: At FirstGen we love inviting founders to share their authentic story in a safe space without all the BS and aggrandizing that characterizes so many other founder events. Join us for a very real and thoughtful conversation with Yuri Tomikawa who built a mental health marketplace fully bootstrapped and recently sold it to a PE firm (and stayed on as CEO!). Yuri is one of the most down to earth and gritty founders that we've come across. She is also a recent and proud mom and is constantly pushing the boundaries of what 'success' looks like as an entrepreneur.
Structure of the Event:
9.30-9.40: Mingle & Food
9.40 - 10.15: Informal Interview
10.15 - 10.45: Q&A and open discussion
10.45 - 11: Close out and network
Who should attend: Founders who are thinking about bootstrapping, selling their business, having kids and having a business, or just redefining success in their own terms. This is industry-agnostic and also stage agnostic.
About Yuri: Yuri Tomikawa is the Founder and CEO of Zencare, a company she started after struggling to find a therapist herself. Her company now helps thousands of individuals connect with clinicians in New York, Boston, and Rhode Island and beyond. She is originally from Japan but has spent most of her adult life in the US.
