Join Startup Exchange at the Tech Square ATL Social Club to hear us give information about our three programs: Mentorship, Fellowship, and Membership! Come get to know other entrepreneurial-minded students at Tech, and grab a bite if needed (pizza's on us)!

Startup Exchange Semester Kickoff

Learn the ropes of entrepreneurship through our 9-week course that covers topics ranging from customer discovery, to revenue channels.

Our mentorship lowers the barrier to entry for students looking to break into the world of startups. During the course, students have the chance to develop a pitch, and to receive feedback that will enable them to bring the idea to life.

The class is open to all Georgia Tech students. All materials are posted online so that anyone can follow and take the class on their own time.

Topics covered: Why be a founder? What are startups? Skills to develop. What is tech twitter? Co-founders/team.

Week 1: Generating ideas for greatness (2/16)

Topics covered: How do you get ideas? (forge vs find mentality) Explaining your ideas well. How to know whether you have a good idea?

Week 3: Building the simplest thing that works and talking to people / Why you want everything to break constantly all the time (3/2)

Topics covered - PMF and how to get there. Building a pre-mvp mvp. How do you talk to users/potential users? How to do cold emails/cold dms

Topics covered - What is venture capital and why/when do you need it

Week 5: Telling good stories (Guest speaker - Brandy Nagel) (3/16)

Tim Felbinger is the founder and CEO of StartProto, a cloud software company that provides innovative solutions to small to mid-sized manufacturers. StartProto seamlessly connects the shop floor, data, and management on one cloud platform, making it easier for manufacturers to manage their operations and scale their businesses. After graduation from Georgia Tech, Tim immediately put his education to work by starting StartProto. With a degree in Electrical Engineering, Tim's passion for technology and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions has helped StartProto to grow rapidly and make a significant impact in the manufacturing industry.

Marzeah Khorramabadi is a recent Georgia Tech Computer Engineering graduate and is co-founder of StrideLink. StrideLink’s mission is to make remote gait monitoring technology a crucial and widespread tool used to track patient outcomes.

Daniele De Mari is the Founder and CEO of Neurogram. She was born and raised in Brazil and moved to the US to study neuroscience at Georgia Tech. Daniele has worked in research labs since her first semester at Tech. Daniele also worked as an EEG technician in Brazil in 2020 and after unexpectedly saving a patient's life by detecting that he was having a seizure in the middle of an EEG scan, she created Neurogram. Neurogram is an artificial intelligence platform that, with machine learning applied to brain scans, increases the time of neurological diseases diagnosis. She has closed a partnership with a neurology company and a medical association with more than 50 hospitals around Brazil, yielding a $4m valuation.

Founders' Forum: From Student to Startup

Overtime is changing the way teens play and watch sports and perhaps upending an entire industry. More recently, Overtime has launched leagues of its own for aspiring NBA and NFL players. Overtime Elite, which premiered last year, is a year-round basketball program for 16- to 20-year-olds. It’s based out of a 103,000-square-foot arena and training center that Overtime built at a converted warehouse in Atlanta. 

In just six years, Overtime has attracted 65 million followers across more than 80 channels it runs on social platforms. And in August, Overtime announced it had raised another $100 million on top of the $140 million it already had. The company is now worth half a billion dollars, and investors include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ’86, the owners of Formula One, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, and 6 percent of active NBA players.

Startup Exchange is proud to host AI ATL, a 36-hour AI hackathon at Georgia Tech, and the first of its kind in the city of Atlanta. 

AI ATL offers an excellent opportunity for students to build use-cases in generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, machine learning, and other aspects of artificial intelligence.

officially kicks off on Friday, November 17, at 5pm

 at the Klaus Advanced Computing Building.

We'll host a series of workshops, 1 on 1 mentor sessions, and fireside chats throughout the hackathon.

PitchRx is the premier healthcare pitch competition in the Southeast, convening exceptional undergraduate and graduate students to transform disruptive ideas into meaningful impact.

Our mission is to strengthen the healthcare entrepreneur community, empower student founders, and catalyze the growth of startups. We provide mentors, resources, and a collaborative network to nurture innovation and technological advancements.

Applicants can enter their innovative solutions across tracks including Biotechnology & Therapeutics, Medical Devices & Diagnostics, and Digital Health & AI. The competition unfolds in three stages: preliminary online applications due on October 14th, semi-final poster session on November 16th, and the final pitch event on January 18th, 2024.
