From “kind of” launching Twitter at SXSW to organising a fully digital event, Hugh has seen the major digital transformation firsthand. Using a variety of unique initiatives like the “South by Southwest PanelPicker” (for speaking proposals) and using social media to accelerate their growth, Hugh knows his way around putting together a fantastic program. 

Although he won’t predict the future of events, this session is sure to bring in some engaging conversation about events, innovation, and community.

Vincent is looking forward to sharing his experience as a communicator working tirelessly behind-the-scenes at an international VC firm. Topics we’ll address include your typical pandemic communication toolkit: newsletters, content creation, events, building a community, and much more.

Vincent Touati-Tomas began his tech career in 2011, working his way up from being an independent marketing consultant to Head of Marketing and Communications at Northzone – a VC firm with more than $1.5 billion under management and early backer of defining-category European startups. Northzone has invested in Spotify, iZettle, Avito, Kahoot!, Klarna and Hopin among others.

His career has been anything but linear. When he joined France Digitale to run their communications and events, Vincent was only 20 years old. He later joined the VC industry with the daphni founding team, only to expand his horizon in London, with Founders Factory before joining Northzone in 2020. You can be sure that although (industry standard) young, Vincent has a lot of valuable experience to share.

From a young age of 15, Vincent has been involved in following his passions. Beginning with a self-started podcast analyzing the effects of the internet on society, he has demonstrated with every career step his ambition and sociability. Being such a natural in communications, he definitely knows how to tell a good story.

Sheel Mohnot is co-founder of Better Tomorrow Ventures (BTV) in San Francisco. They are $75m fund that leads pre-seed and seed rounds in fintech companies globally.

On top of that, he is on the investment committee for the Catalyst Fund, an initiative to support entrepreneurs building financial solutions for the underserved in India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, and South Africa, and a general partner of the 500 Fintech fund.

But, that’s not all! Sheel was also on the livestream show, Zoom Bachelor! Over the 2 series, 12 female contestants were in various challenges to win Sheel’s heart over, while it being live streamed…

Yes, Zoom Bachelor is done mostly for fun and laughs, but over a few weeks the show got to fundraise almost $90K for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
