Most tips around building in public, audience building, and storytelling are shared via short videos attached in each email prompt. Therefore, these group sessions are focused on exercises and sharing among small groups (3-4 pax in breakout rooms).

We’ll be using a collaborative virtual meeting platform called Toasty. If we encounter technical difficulty, we will have Zoom as plan b.

Once in a while, we see someone who really understands the human psychology behind growing a Twitter audience. When I first saw this name, Aprilynne (

), on Twitter in March 2021, I knew she was onto something.

Aprilynne just graduated from Cornell this year and is now working at Citi (yup, the financial institute!) She also runs a project called 

. She signed up on Twitter Dec 2020 and I still remember seeing her at 600-700 followers in March, now she is at 2,162 followers. What is impressive is that her engagement level is super high, often with tweets that have close to 100 likes and 20 replies!

What's her magic? From what I see, she does a few things really well:

Jeremy is not the typical type of person who is interested in Building in Public, like indie hackers, creators, or solopreneurs. He actually runs a digital PR, SEO, and link-building agency! One might ask him: what are you doing building an audience on Twitter? Does it help grow your agency? That’s exactly what we will find out!

On Twitter, he has been focusing on one key strategy - creating value for entrepreneurs and marketers. This is why you see short tweets and bullet points a lot on his wall. And it is clearly working well with 7400+ followers.

There is a reason why I chose Ben to be our example: he is authentic, has his own personality online, and most importantly, he understands how to involve the people around him (audience) in his building process.
