Join Intern.Club for a live mock PM interview with Microsoft Principal Group PM Manager, Mat Dickson! (He has 12+ years of experience at Microsoft, working within Azure Storage, Media, and Edge)

We will be conducting a live mock interview. We will be going over the following questions, feel free to give them a shot ahead of time!

Behavioral: 1- Describe a situation when you came up-to-speed quickly on new tools, methods, or processes. 2- Give an example of a successful method (for example, research findings, anecdotes, stories, metaphors, or analogies) that you have used to convince a stakeholder to support an idea.

Hypothetical: 1- Suppose you were asked to create a key feature/capability required for a new product to be successful. Your first task is to create a requirements spec for review and approval. What would you do?

SERIES DESCRIPTION: If you are like me and keep saying you'll do prep for technical interviews but have trouble doing so consistently, this is a great place to get started. We will be hosting biweekly Saturday sessions where we have an experienced interviewer walk us through solving problems and give tips on how to be successful with whiteboard coding interviews. We also will match you with another intern for 1:1 mock interview sessions every two weeks, so you can get hands on practice, and approach the problems we will go over in the group sessions yourself.

THIS WEEK: We are learning from a Google Engineer who started at Facebook <1 year ago, and then transitioned to Google as an L4 ~with benefits~. This engineer is honestly kicking ass at life, so we will spend a little more time hearing advice on how to be successful in an increasingly competitive tech world.

We will be going over just one problem this time, feel free to give the problem a shot yourself or with your partner.

For this session, our very own Hareesh will be interviewing our Googler. He will write the code in Python on Leetcode and share his screen. He will not have prepared a solution, and will solve the problem as though he was in an actual interview.

Design Buddies and Intern Club are thrilled to host Florian van Schreven for his presentation on "Towards the democratization of design with AI."

Why does it take so long to bring ideas to live digital products? While hand-sketching is still the most common method used by design and product teams for brainstorming when working on a new website or a mobile app, it still takes hours and often days to turn these rough ideas into functional prototypes. In the meantime, AI is already transforming entire industries and the technology is now becoming mature enough to be actionable in the real world. In this talk, Florian will share how Machine Intelligence can be used to automatically transform hand-drawn sketches into interactive prototypes and considerably speed up the product design workflow.

Florian van Schreven is the co-founder and COO of Uizard Technologies, a startup developing AI-powered tools to revolutionize the way people build software. He has previously spoken in conferences such as UX Copenhagen, Confront Sweden and Web Summit Portugal. Uizard, the company he co-founded, has been recognized globally and featured in international media such as WIRED, Forbes, The Huffington Post and The Next Web.

Towards the Democratization of Design with Artificial Intelligence

As an Intern Week special, the Club is so excited to be hosting "Back of the Napkin" with Arjo Mozumder, an Investor at Point72 Ventures.

Arjo is a venture associate at Point72 Ventures, focused on applied AI and robotics investments. He specializes in automation of core workflows across several verticals, including logistics, manufacturing, real estate and construction. He leads the AI/ML vertical of EVCA, a national non-profit community of venture capitalists. Arjo studied Finance and Statistics at the University of Texas at Austin, where he founded Convergent – an incubator and educational organization with operations in Berkeley and Austin.

Come ask questions about Arjo's move into venture capital out of college, what he thinks of the AI/robotics industry, and tips and advice on career paths if you're looking to do the same thing!

The Back of the Napkin: Venturing into VC

That's where these come in. Product Management (PM) has become one of the most sought after roles in tech recently, and the buzz has brought an influx of hungry folks looking to break into the space. However, product thinking isn't something innately intuitive. Join us for an insightful virtual panel about being a woman in STEM. Our panelists will focus on leadership in the context of culture and power structures, and help us understand the sorts of challenges we may face as newcomers to the industry. Our panelists come from different companies such as Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook, with different levels of experience-from intern to CVP.

This is a women's panel but it by no means is limited to women! We want to extend this to anyone who would like to learn more about navigating power structures in the industry, and it may be especially helpful for men entering the industry to learn about what women go through.

You'll walk away with tangible advice for how to navigate power structures, deal with sexism, as well as important sources of support.
