Dr. Watson grew up in the Five Points area of Denver, a crime-ridden neighborhood with gang violence, drugs, and poverty. This kind of neighborhood creates numerous obstacles and challenges for young people; however, Dr. Watson's biggest challenges were behind closed doors.

Throughout his childhood, both parents were addicted to heroin, shoplifted, and were unemployed. Family life for Dr. Watson and his siblings was chaotic and they were often unsupervised and uncared for. Living in foster homes, shelters, motel rooms, and with family and friends were common occurences.

Due to the help of others and in part through his own personal drive, Dr. Watson was able to avoid the trappings of drug addiction and gang affiliation that eventually consumed the lives of some of his siblings. 

In spite of some negative classroom experiences, he persevered, graduated from high school, and earned an athletic scholarship to play Big Ten football for the University of Minnesota. 

After a career as an elementary school principal in Minnesota, Dr. Watson is now a mentor and speaker, who shares his story with youth and organizations to provide the inspiration they need to experience greater success.

Dr. Tina Seelig is Executive Director of Knight-Hennessy Scholars and Emeritus Director of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program at Stanford School of Engineering. She teaches courses on leadership, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (

In 2014, Dr. Seelig was honored with the SVForum Visionary Award, and in 2009 she received the Gordon Prize from the National Academy of Engineering, recognizing her as a national leader in engineering education. She also received the 2014 MS&E Award for Graduate Teaching, the 2008 National Olympus Innovation Award, and the 2005 and 2019 Stanford Tau Beta Pi Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

She has worked as a management consultant for Booz, Allen, and Hamilton, as a multimedia producer at Compaq Computer Corporation, and was the founder of a multimedia company called BookBrowser.

She has written 17 popular science books and educational games. Her books include The Epicurean Laboratory and Incredible Edible Science, published by Scientific American; and a series of twelve games called Games for Your Brain, published by Chronicle Books. Tony was born in Beirut, Lebanon, during a violent civil war, and was lucky enough to travel to France at the age of seventeen to study a computer sciences degree, then attended the IMD Business School in Switzerland. 

After graduating, Tony founded Nexmo, a pioneer in the Communications Platform as a Service (“CPaaS”) category - the company went public via a merger with Vonage in 2016. 

After a successful Nexmo exit, Tony took some time off to consider what to do next. He began to invest in “platform models that can change the world”, Tony’s investments include Hopin, Hyperloop, Graphcore and DialPad.

Over the past decade, Wrixen has overseen 1200+ successful acquisitions totaling more than a billion dollars in value. Wrixen is also a member of the Forbes Finance Council. Wrixen’s previous background was in large-cap M&A investment banking, where he executed several high-profile public deals, namely in the Technology sector.

Amos was born in the Bronx, NY and grew up in Fort Lee NJ. At a young age, Amos started seeking adventure and pushing limits. While attending college at the UMASS, Amos fell in love with rock climbing which brought him to Northern California in 1993 and eventually a job packing boxes for Shoreline Mountain Project. While there Amos helped turn an old school mail-order company into one of the first e-commerce companies which launched his career into the startup world. Shoreline later sold to Mountain Gear.

After Shoreline, Amos spent a few years Adventure Racing where his team was ranked 2nd in the nation twice and 20th in the world after completing the 2001 Eco-Challenge. During this time Amos also stumbled back into the startups and went on to 6 more including 

 (acquired by R.H.Donnely), mySpoonful (acquired by the RightsWorkshop), Blacklocus (acquired by The HomeDepot) and Joust (TBD). At each company, his responsibility was always directly related to figuring out product market fit, early sales and building sales organizations. 

Then, in 2015, he moved over to the investor side as Managing Director of Techstars in Austin. Now after over 70 seed stage investments including Scalefactor, Chowbotics, Storyfit, VanRobotics, Skipper, Helpberbees, Convey, Docstation and Allstacks, Amos has become one of the more active early stage investors, via Techstars Austin in all of Texas.
