Niklas' 34th Birthday in San Pedro Sula

Ciudad Morazan is a residential free private city in a special economic zone in Honduras that provides affordable housing and security for several dozens of Honduran families. 

Equipped with the advantages of legal autonomy as part of the Honduran ZEDE law, Ciudad Morazan is aiming to become a hub for digital nomads and bootstrapped founders.

This is a two-part event - one virtual, one in-person.

The goal of this event is to educate about one of the most interesting private cities in the world, and offer an opportunity to come visit it together with a group of free spirits.

Ciudad Morazan - The Bootstrap City Rising

This is a beginner-friendly session for D&D. We play a simpler version called Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC)

The minimum requirement is a time commitment of 4h - other than than, no need to prepare - I'll help you get set up.

Please treat a "Yes" to this event as a hard-commit, I'm limiting the number of new players to 4 - which in my experience is the most fun size for a new group to play (though we can stretch it to 5-6 if we want to be inclusive, but I'll do more sessions too)

D&D Beginners' Session

Building a boat can be a fun teambuilding activity and it can be a good asset for the community (albeit location-dependent) 

The most important thing to figure out will be the purpose of the boat and think of how the community would use it 

Whether or not it makes sense depends on our answer to that question - so let’s have an initial session to figure it out!

Building the Zuzalu Houseboat

Kristof de Spiegeleer from Threefold will speak about how to build a decentralised internet infrastructure, powered by the network state approach.

Threefold will build this infrastructure utilising free zone status on Zanzibar, Tanzania, with regulatory autonomy.

Network states are all the rage - but what are they really?

When is a Discord group becoming a network state? What roles to community, legal autonomy and physical land play?

We aim to get towards a clearer understanding of network states how how they matter for our community in two sessions:

Network States x Charter Cities: we will do two 1h-long deep dives into Afropolitan (Chika, Eche) and Prospera (Niklas), as these two respresent the clearest and most ambitious versions of two strong strategies towards building new governance models.

Network States x Technology: in this session, we will talk more about how network states can benefit technological development.

Network States. Startup Cities & Technology @Zuzalu

New Jurisdictions for Longevity & Medical Innovation @ Zuzalu (Internal Workshop)

This is an event for biohackers, techno-utopians and jurisdictional hoppers, organised by Alex Miloski, Adam Gries and Laurence Ion.

It takes place during the 2-month-long pop-up mini-city called "Zuzalu" in Tivat, Montenegro.

Longevity is the defining question of humanity. 

However, biotech R&D and commercial use are chronically underfunded and slow, due to legacy regulatory systems that lock in old solutions and create bottlenecks for new ones.

Solutions such as medical reciprocity laws, sunset clauses and right-to-try legislation have the ethical upper hand, but the "Machiavelli Effect" (J. Storrs Hall) is preventing adoption.

However, startup cities and network states, as well as innovation-friendly smaller jurisdictions are promising to change the game.

From medical tourism arbitrage in Mexico, Turkey & Thailand, to clinical research hubs such as Australia, pharma production zones in Uruguay and Costa Rica, as well as polycentric law zones such as Prospera Honduras - innovation is on the horizon.

What jurisdictions hold the most promise to unleash the power of longevity biotechnology? How can scientists and entrepreneurs use them?

Can we build a new jurisdiction and a Longevity Network State? 

We'll discuss these questions with the key experts and practitioners in the field.

Following amazing presentations and discussions, we'll be hosting a pitch day on Tuesday from 6 - 9pm @ the Dome to wrap up the New Jurisdictions and States for Longevity and Medical Innovation program! 

There are currently 7 proposals/problems to work on. We encourage all participants to leverage today's and tomorrow's breakout sessions to form groups and work on those or come up with brand new ideas: 

: what’s good about the current model, how to guarantee safety, the need for efficacy trials

: we currently don't have a "protocol for longevity research": how to measure aging? what are the biomarkers? Could we run drug trials in parallel across multiple jurisdictions?

How to deal with Public relations & moral judgment

: strategies to get support from host countries.

: how to fractionalize shares on the outcome of trials.

: tradeoffs behind centralized database of records (eg Estonia, Dennmark), creating an “aging bio-bank”.

Practical aspects of getting a new jurisdiction off the ground

: what’s needed for a jurisdiction to be considered legit? What would an MVP look like? Min requirements?

Criteria for selecting the best physical locations

: main factors for decision making, current options available, need for permanent relocation?

: We'll prioritize practical proposals that have a clear path to implementation! We want pitches that can potentially seed ideas for new cities, jurisdictions, network states etc.
