October ClimateTech Coffee
For our next edition of ClimateTech Coffee we'll be joined by Akash Kanojia to hear about the world of renewable energy project finance. Akash is a finance professor at UT Austin, a Co-Founder of Skyline Energy Solutions, and previously worked on Wall Street trading bonds and working on bailout plans for the Federal Reserve.
If you've joined us previously you'll have heard from entrepreneurs and researchers working on emerging technology and research, but for these solutions to truly scale they typically require funding that can't be satisfied from venture capital alone. Come learn how startups can navigate the transition between venture capital and project finance, the nuances around industry culture and risk tolerance, and how to build the right relationships in project finance before hitting scaling constraints.
It's sure to be a compelling conversation, hope to see you there!
ABOUT CLIMATETECH COFFEE:
ClimateTech Coffee is an informal monthly meetup to learn and connect with people passionate about reversing climate change. We're biased toward connecting and we want to foster collaboration opportunities.
Austin is emerging as one of the nation's climate tech hubs, so come join us at Lazarus (on East 6th, not Airport) to keep up with the latest developments. Each month you can expect one or two short, deck-less lightning talks from a local business leader, policy expert, or researcher to share what they're working on and what they're excited about. A healthy dose of discussion will follow!
Whether you're just starting your climate journey or you've been working here your entire career, everyone is welcome.
