In an age of overwhelm and digital deception, it is becoming vital to stay connected to our living experiences.
Poetry is a creative form of deep intimacy.
Poetry is gonzo journalism in the field of real life.
Poetry is the wilderness of self-expression.
And, if we are brave enough to be radically true when we write, poetry can save our humanity.
But what does it mean to be "True"? And, what does it take?
Join me for a special night of creative workshopping where we will dive into the many ways we can use our true stories as healing alchemy for ourselves, and medicine for an exceedingly disembodied human collective. We will explore paradox, judgment, and form across different mediums of self expression, with a focus on poetry as an accessible and magical central craft.
Awakening presence for vivid imagery, turning on our senses to describe our inner experiences, and summoning the courage and love to tell the stories of our secret hearts, together we will assemble a tool kit for living a more authentic life and getting more free to be active authors of our glorious life story.
This is a workshop for poets, writers, and any human with a beating heart! Write better and live every day with more honesty and the courage to be seen and known. The world needs your truth, in your true voice. Come play in the permission to tell your story in the way that only you can.
Class will be followed by open writing time and poetry sharing circle (favoring pieces written in-class with the prompts).
As always, the call will be recorded and shared with prompts afterwords, for anyone who cannot make it live.
