Tribute Network: Kim Asendorf X0X Viewing
June 27, 2024 5:30–9 pm
Tribute Labs is pleased to host an in-person viewing of Kim Asendorf’s X0X. Join us on June 27, 2024, from 5:30 to 9 PM to take in the artist's real-time animations which will be showcased for one night on a 20'x12' LED wall in a Brooklyn cyclorama.
Celebrate the first art commission for Tribute Labs members with an immersive display of Asendorf’s work. This series is a nod to the iconic X0X sequencers and drum machines of the '80s. The color of the pixels in X0X follows the same sequence to generate complex compositions. Each piece starts from a simple shape or symbol, evolving into complex, dissonant patterns thanks to Asendorf’s pixel-sorting algorithm. The monumental scale of the LED wall and the austere ambiance of the exhibition space highlight the work's origins in early computer graphics and electronic music.
We kindly request your RSVP for this live event and hope to see you in attendance. Do be in touch with any questions and we hope to see you in Brooklyn on 6/27.
