Perspectives on Online Safety After the "Year of Elections"
In the panel discussion Perspectives on Online Safety After the "Year of Elections", we will discuss how developments in geopolitics and social media landscapes in the wake of the numerous elections that took place in 2024 are informing and affecting the work to reduce online harms, including tech-facilitated gender-based violence.
We’ll explore the issue of online safety from a number of perspectives, including that of journalists, activists, elected officials, public figures, academics, and survivors.
We hope the audience will leave this session with a richer understanding of the issue of online safety, and with heightened inspiration to be part of the solution.
