About Orly Israel:
Orly Israel was a television producer in Los Angeles, crafting fictional stories while feeling deeply disconnected in real life. Seeking something more meaningful, he began volunteering at a prison — and learned the life-changing power of real, intentional listening.
That experience inspired him to set up a folding table with a handwritten sign:
“Here to Listen. No judgment. No advice. No charge.”
Over the past three years, Orly has had over 1,500 conversations with strangers, sharing the lessons online and building a community around presence and listening. After losing his home in the 2025 LA fire, Orly helped rebuild community bonds through the very listening skills he'd honed.
Today, Orly speaks and leads workshops on listening, connection, and healing across schools, shelters, prisons, companies, and online — reminding us that change doesn’t start loud, it starts present.
