​John Bautista is a member of Orrick's Board of Directors and Technology Companies Group and leads Orrick's Technology Companies practice connecting Silicon Valley with Europe and Asia. He's also board member, co-founder, and chief lawyer of the SEC-approved Long-Term Stock Exchange, where he was named 2019 Innovator of the Year by The Recorder.

​Previously, he was the co-founder of Clerky.com, was a founding attorney of Venture Law Group, and practiced at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati. From 1993-97, he served as mayor and council member of the City of Cupertino, California, where he built important public partnerships with companies like Apple Computer and the Mid-Peninsula Open Space Preserve.
