This sci-comm event series targets first and second-year students interested in life sciences research. With a heavy course load, students often lack time for curiosity-driven learning. The series offers talks by industry experts, professors, and graduate students on trending science topics, providing networking opportunities and inspiration for future endeavours. The event's objective is to bridge basic science principles and cutting-edge translational research, particularly in longevity and aging biology, offering insights into modern medicine and research advancements. The first event will cover topics on reprogramming, stem cell biology, immunology, and machine intelligence.
Guest speakers include: Shayan Rabbi (PhD Candidate in IMS @ UofT ), Nathan Cheng (Executive Co-Director, Longevity Biotech Fellowship; Masters in Physics @ UofT), Brendan Swain (Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Shift Bioscience), Yuri Deigin (Co-founder & Director, YouthBio Therapeutics Inc.), and David He(PhD Candidate in Molecular Genetics @ UofT)
