About Event

The second session of the Public Speaking Fellowship will begin with a debate. The topic will be “The house believes that tech companies should regulate governments, not the other way around”.

Around 100 of you are enrolled for the fellowship who will actively participate. Other subscribers are welcome to join and listen. How will this work?Varya will be splitting you in groups of 5 and assigning you your stance. I know it is weird that you don’t get to choose, but the purpose of this particular Fellowship is public speaking, not issue based agreements or lack thereof.

Say 5 people – A, B, C, D, E – are assigned “Against the Motion”. This subgroup will need to argue that governments should regulate tech companies. What it will come down to is each person will put forward her/his stance in one minute.

After 5*1 minutes, the opposing side will come and argue. After this, both teams will get specific feedback and advise for the next round. One team will get eliminated and this chain repeated till the winner is declared. We hope that you are slightly nervous and slightly excited. We promise it will be fun.

There was a reason why we opened up this session even for those subscribers who hadn’t enrolled. We will let you figure it out yourself. :)
